Lawrence Grimm has been an actor and teacher for over 30 years. A founding ensemble member of A Red Orchid Theater, Larry is a Jeff Award winning actor who has worked extensively at Chicago’s most prominent theaters including Goodman, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Steppenwolf, Lookingglass, Victory Gardens, Raven, Next, Timeline, Shattered Globe, Court, Collaboraction, and Piven Theater Workshop.
His teaching work includes extensive residencies at The University of Michigan School of Music, Dance and Drama in dozens of New York and Chicago public, private, and parochial schools, social services facilities (specializing in Dementia, Substance Prevention and Mental Health) and corporate businesses and ad agencies (Leo Burnett and Razorfish).
New York teaching affiliations: Lincoln Center Institute, Roundabout Theatre, Theatre for a New Audience, and Arts Connection.
Chicago teaching affiliations: Acting Studio, Second City, Piven Theater Workshop, Writer’s Theater, Lookingglass Theater, The Illinois Arts Council, CAPE, Urban Gateways and Steppenwolf for Young Audiences where he served as Senior Facilitator for Curriculum and Instruction for over 10 years.
With a Masters in Education from DePaul University, Larry was a high school English and Drama teacher at Stevenson High School and Chicago’s public high school for the arts, Chi-Arts.
